TCM is a comprehensive system of healthcare that has evolved in China in the last 3,000 years. TCM has its own profound theoretical framework and offers a range of unique therapies such as acupuncture, Chinese herbal medicine, Taichi and Tuina (Massage).
TCM regards the body as an organic whole, which should exist in harmony with the universe and where all the different parts are interconnected and interactive.

Its emphasis first of all is on health promotion and prevention. When on falls ill, the focus of the treatment is on the person suffering from the illness rather than on the illness itself. A good TCM practitioner, therefore, will not only deal with the physical symptoms but will also look at other relevant aspects of the patient’s life, such as climatic factors, diet, life style, and social environment.
Another important belief of TCM is that everybody is different and as a result should be treated as a unique individual. In clinical practice this means that unlike western medicine there is nooneuniversal prescription for people suffering from the same illness and even for the same person the treatment needs to be varied at different stages of the disease process.
In China, TCM is used in both primary and secondary care settings to treat a wide range of medical conditions. As mentioned earlier, it is also used widely in health promotion: Taichi and Qigong exercises, medicinal diet and a variety of herbal products are highly beneficial for the improvement of general well being and for strengthening the body’s immune system.

Tuina (Chinese Remedial Massage) is similar in its beneficial effects to acupuncture only in Tuina hands or blunt instruments are used instead of needles. Tuina is widely used for stress, anxiety, pain as well as for general well being. Many types of tuina are available at Health Ever clinic, from full body massage to foot and head-neck-shoulder massage.
